Obligations and rights of NOVA FCSH
NOVA FCSH is responsible for ensuring:
- the accommodation and maintenance of infrastructure;
- the functioning of the OJS and OMP instances;
- the creation of new OJS and OMP instances;
- technical support;
- the definition and compliance with a general Platform policy, based on COPE's Principles of Transparency and Good Practices for Scientific Publications, and the usage policy. These policies constitute the basis of the criteria by which NOVA FCSH evaluates the suitability of publications for membership and retention.
The NOVA FCSH reserves the right, at any time, to
- define a limit for hosting titles, informing the editorial board at least 180 days in advance.
- evaluate the suitability of titles for membership in accordance with the Scientific Publishing Platform Policies and the Principles of Transparency and Good Practices for Scientific Publications.
- reassess the permanence of a publication on the platform that fails to comply with the Scientific Publishing Platform Policies and satisfy the Principles of Transparency and Good Practices for Scientific Publications;
- Decline any responsibility for unlawful acts that may inadvertently arise from a published work.
Duties and rights of Research Units / editorial seals
Editorial advisors are responsible for:
- comply with the NOVA FCSH Scientific Publishing Platform Policies and the COPE Principles of Transparency and Good Practices for Scientific Publications;
- Managing the content and editorial processes of their OJS and OMP instances;
- Maintaining the historical archive of the publications;
- Including the NOVA FCSH logo in the publications.
Editorial seals have the right to:
- Maintain scientific independence and autonomy in publishing model;
- apply good practices and editorial criteria additional to those set out in the FCSH Policies (e.g.: open peer review; pre-prints)
- maintain your graphic identity
- unlimited accommodation of titles and volumes published through the seal;
- technical support and sustainable maintenance of the assigned OJS and OMP instances;
- Request the creation of new OJS and OMP instances;
- to the free allocation of persistent DOI / ISBN identifiers through NOVA / NOVA FCSH subscriptions.
New subscriptions
The NOVA FCSH Scientific Editions Platform is open to proposals for the integration of editorial endorsements, scientific journals or collections, existing or to be created by research units.
The accommodation of journals and collections of new editorial seals is subject to a one-time payment, which will be used for future maintenance and updating of the infrastructure.
