When submitting a manuscript or other research result to [journal/collection], the following information is requested from authors so that it is possible to consider, process and possibly publish the work in accordance with published publication standards: name, academic degree , email address, telephone number, institutional affiliation, address and ORCID iD (Open Researcher and Contributor Identifier). The same information is requested from editors/coordinators and scientific evaluators.
Authors' personal data is used to process, contact, facilitate editorial review and peer review, and for possible publication and mailing when published.
The personal data of editors/coordinators and scientific evaluators are used for contact within the scope of their collaboration and for sending news and updates about the [journal / collection].
Personal data is kept and used for as long as necessary to provide the service and comply with applicable legal requirements, resolve disputes and fulfill agreements, according to the following criteria:
– Author of unpublished work: data deleted after 1 year without contact / inactive;
– Author of published work, editor / coordinator or evaluator: data deleted after 3 years without contact / inactive;
– Publication of article, chapter, book: permanent storage.
The data subject is guaranteed the right to access, update, rectify, forget or delete their personal data at any time, and to do so, send their request to the email dpo@unl.pt.
